How it works?
The system begins with compressed air (approximately 50 PSI) being supplied to the ozone generator. The generator first removes nitrogen from the air, providing a gas stream consisting of about 95% pure oxygen. It then converts up to 10% of this oxygen into ozone (O₃) via electrical discharge. The resulting ozone-oxygen mixture is injected into the water stream using a venturi injector. A pump creates the necessary water pressure differential to drive the venturi, which pulls the ozone gas into the water via vacuum and initiates mixing.
This water-ozone mixture then enters a dedicated contact tank. Inside the tank, baffles are employed to enhance the mixing and maximize the mass transfer of ozone into the water, while also providing crucial contact time for the ozone to react. The tank design maintains system water pressure during operation. Treated water, now containing dissolved ozone, exits the tank and is directed to the point of use. Any unused, off-gassed ozone from the contact tank can be either recirculated or safely destroyed by an optional ozone destruct unit.
